Christchurch fire

In 2017 on February 13th, Monday at 5pm in the night, there was a Fire on the Port Hills Christchurch New Zealand.

In total there were 14 helicopters, 3 planes and 130 firefighters fighting the fire. 11 homes and sheds destroyed. 400 homes evacuated, A total of 1,000 people evacuated. But how did the fire happen? They don’t know how the fire started.

Petra from Halswell said "The flames were huge and so very scary.  I had such a good view from my place."

After many days of fighting it, the fire was brought under control.
